Crystallography rocks! #2



Even if you can hardly believe it: you have most probably spooned out your porridge or eaten a steak using the work of art shown in this photo. This andalusite is used in the production of porcelain and heat-resistant materials. These are radiating crystals of andalusite found in the dacitic lavas of Lipari (Italy).
