The Carl Zeiss Foundation

In 1889, Ernst Abbe published the statutes that led to the creation of the Carl Zeiss Foundation. It listed the responsibilities and goals of the Foundation and its companies (SCHOTT AG and ZEISS Group).

With the Foundation, Ernst Abbe intended to honor the life's work of Carl Zeiss and ensure the stability of the companies and social responsibility towards employees.

In accordance with the wishes of the founder, today's Foundation still promotes scientific and research projects in the fields of the natural and engineering sciences. #CZS125
