Goettingen is one of the production- and development sites of our Microscopy business group. The German city is well known for its historic university. This academic institution was founded in 1737 and went on to become the most visited university of Europe. 44 Nobel Prize winners either come from or have worked in this university city. It is a tradition that all the university’s graduates kiss the statue the “Gänseliesel” figure above the fountain on the market on the cheeks after passing their exams. This makes her "the most kissed girl in the world".
