Other highlights include the mini-planetarium with a 4.6 meter dome and the treasure chamber of optics. In the planetarium, visitors can experience the capabilities of modern optical-mechanical projectors from ZEISS: these systems provide an unrivaled, realistic depiction of the night sky and countless visualization possibilities. The treasure chamber of optics houses some items of historical significance, for example a hand-held telescope that was taken from Napoleon Bonaparte (1769–1821) after the Battle of Waterloo.
