Did you find all Easter Eggs this year?
Easter, a time of joy when kids everywhere keep their eyes open for hidden eggs. We usually take it for granted that they find what is barely covered. But what about blind children? How do they experience Easter?
Sometimes, a little bit of engineering makes a real difference: The ZEISS Medical Technology Business Group provided the Blind Babies Foundation (www.blindbabies.org) with special beeping eggs for their annual Beeping Egg Hunt. The sounds helped guide the children toward 150 plastic eggs that they could gather and exchange for chocolate ones.
ZEISS employees volunteered their personal time on two Saturdays to assemble 350 Easter baskets filled with treats and toys for the children to take after the egg hunt, and helped with the event on site. This is the 10th consecutive year that ZEISS has supported the Blind Babies event.
