In particular, the reflecting telescopes for Heidelberg Observatory and Innsbruck Observatory earned ZEISS an excellent reputation in the world of astronomy. Loxia 35mm vs. Sonnar 35mm Lens Comparison at Ilovehatephoto: “Comparing the Loxia 35mm to the Sonnar 35mm, the Loxia wins out on build quality, vignetting/flare control, and character. While the Sonnar is the workhorse, the Loxia is for the connoisseur. The Loxia 35mm f/2 is not a perfect lens, but a huge kudos to Zeiss for taking the risk and designing a lens that was so fun to use and with so much soul.

Did You Know that Carl Zeiss Lenses are turning 125 years old?

On 21 March 1890, the first batch of camera lenses left production in Jena. While this business was only a small offshoot for the company at the outset, together with cine lenses, it plays a significant role today. But how did ZEISS get the idea of producing camera lenses in the first place? Read the article here: http://bit.ly/1CwYmFE

Meet our new trainees

Today we would like to introduce our trainee Robert. Robert is a trainee in marketing at Carl Zeiss Meditec AG in Berlin. He originally comes from the Mansfeld region in the east of Germany. In addition to a bachelor's degree in business economics, Robert did an MBA in marketing management in Hof in southern Germany. "What attracts me in particular to the Global Graduate Program at ZEISS is the possibility of constantly thinking outside the box. The many sites and departments I experienced during the program gave me many different insights into the complex product portfolio and processes at ZEISS. One absolute highlight was the opportunity to get to know a foreign market on site. "The best thing about my new home in Berlin is that the possibilities open to me are practically boundless."
